About the Artist: Handcrafted Rustic Apple Wood Pencils

Hello...I am h.m. Peavy. 

I grew up in the Midwest, lived in Hawaii for nearly 40 years, and currently make my home in Southern California. I love creating artworks, home renovations, cycling, organic gardening, collecting vintage art and crafts, and upcycling. I own Re-psychles Vintage Shop and Art Gallery in Palm Springs, CA. 

I created  the Apple Pencil: a handmade twig pencil made from apple tree wood,

the  Apple Lamp : a post bundle of apple tree twigs with an upcycled base and lampshade,  and other products made from apple tree wood, including clothing naturally dyed using Apple Juice, a byproduct in the production of the Apple Pencil.

The Prayer = T-shirt was designed to encourage racial equality and unity.

The upcycled Carhartt® T-shirt collection celebrates the American and Immigrant Worker. 

 

The Black Face Project T-shirts feature American Black women  and men who have made significant contributions to humanity.

I  design a line of clothing for women and men, home furnishings, and other products made from vintage textiles that involve stitching, printing, and hand-dyeing. 

I also design and weave rugs and tapestries, and build construction and assemblage artworks.

 I am currently working on a series of limited edition lithographs based on images and themes I often revisit in my artwork.
